Department of Dermatology at University Hospital Greifswald provides inpatients and outpatients with the medical care required for the management of the full range of skin diseases. The main focus of the department, in terms of both patient care and research activities, is skin cancer. The Skin Tumor Center is certified by the German Cancer Society for its exceptional care for tumors of the skin as the center has a medical team full of experienced, qualified doctors and nursing staff as well as the latest diagnostics and therapeutics to ensure rapid, accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. Each patient is treated by specialists who work together and with the patient to create the optimal management plan. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Michael Jünger, the medical staff treats over 1,200 inpatients every year. Due to the cooperation with the Vein and Wound Center, the facility offers diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases caused by blood vessel defects such as varicose veins.
