Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at University Hospital Cologne provides surgical care for patients with musculoskeletal diseases or injuries. The department offers the latest diagnostics and therapeutics for the management of degenerative diseases as well as sports injuries of the hip, knee, ankle, and pelvis in the arthroplasty unit. The pediatric unit is in cooperation with the Children Hospital of Cologne to ensure optimal care for patients.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Peer Eysel, the medical team treats more than 3,200 inpatients every year, many of which receive care for osteosarcoma, Ewing's sarcoma, Giant Cell tumors, and chondroblastoma as the facility is supported by the Center for Integrated Oncology.
