The department has achieved impressive in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma as well as pancreatic cancer as it works in cooperation with the Gastroenterological Oncology unit of the Center for Integrated Oncology.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Tobias Goeser, the medical staff treats more than 1,000 inpatients every year and offers the full range of advanced measures for the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory and neoplastic diseases, such as endoscopy, sonography, and transplantation. The research unit is involved in studies on tumors, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, cirrhosis, and primary sclerosing cholangitis.
