Department of Cardiology, Pneumology, Angiology, and Intensive Care Medicine at University Hospital Cologne provides care for patients with cardiovascular and lung diseases. The department offers the full range of cutting-edge technology for the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery stenosis, cardiac arrhythmia, increased arterial blood pressure, and heart valve diseases. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Stephan Baldu, the medical team treats more than 4,700 inpatients every year, more than 750 of which are angina patients.
The facility has achieved excellent results in the treatment of congenital heart defects, such as septal and valvular defects, as well as inflammatory lung diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, and lung cancer. Genetic testing as well as surgical treatment are offered due to the cooperation with the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery to provide surgical treatment for patients.
