Department of Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology at the Schön Klinik Neustadt provides care for patients with acute and chronic diseases of the central and peripheral central systems. The department is in cooperation with other departments such as the Departments of Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, Orthopedics, and Radiology. The department is also a certified Stroke Unit as it’s well-supplied with equipment and qualified doctors for emergencies such as stroke patients. Under the leadership of Dr. med. Uwe Jahnke, the department treats over 2,300 inpatients every year. The department has special attention directed towards epilepsy and neuromuscular diseases as it also provides rehabilitation for patients with these diseases.
