Clinic for Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the Schön Klinik Neustadt provides care for patients with diseases and tumors of the digestive tract, cardiovascular system, endocrine glands,and the blood. This clinic has a certified Chest Pain Specialty Clinic by the German Society of Cardiology. It’s also certified as a Heart Failure Unit and this certification is highly significant because only 10 other centers in Germany have the same recognition. The clinic works in close cooperation with the Departments of Surgery, Neurology, Orthopedics,and Emergency Medicine. The main focuses of the clinic are the treatment of digestive disorders, hormonal imbalance, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, infections as well as blood and coagulation disorders. In order to provide optimal care for cancer patients, specialists from clinics for visceral surgery, radiology, oncology, pathology, nd radiation therapy work together to develop the best, tailor-made management plan. The cardiology division of the department focuses mainly on coronary heart diseases, peripheral artery diseases as well as syncope.
