Department of Orthopedics, Trauma, Hand Surgery and Sports Medicine at Helios Hospital Munich West provides surgical care for patients with diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. The department with all of its units is equipped with the most advanced equipment for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. The department is mainly focused on hand surgery, elbow and shoulder surgery, foot surgery as well as physical therapy for patients with movement disorders. The department offers the full spectrum of modern trauma surgery and it also has the ambulatory and stationery needed in case of accidents. The department is certified by the German Society of Trauma Surgery and is considered a regional trauma center. It’s also a member of the Trauma Network Munich-Upper Bavaria South.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Andreas Lenich, the department treats over 2,600 inpatients every year. Dr. Lenich has been recognized by FOCUS Magazine as one of the top doctors in the field of elbow surgery and his team in the entire spectrum of minimally invasive arthroscopy and open elbow surgery. He’s also a member of PRIMO MEDICO, the network for medical specialists in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. He’s also met the strict criteria required to be a part of the Leading Medicine Guide which provides information on specialized clinics as well as medical experts.
