Department of Neurosurgery at University Hospital Jena provides surgical care for patients with diseases of the central and peripheral nervous systems. The department is supplied with cutting-edge technical equipment allowing for surgical interventions for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. The medical service of the department is offered according to DIN EN ISO: 2008.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Rolff Klaff, the department treats more than 1,470 inpatients every year and is mainly concerned with the treatment of tumors of the brain and spine cord as it is a member of the Neuro-Oncology Center Jena and the Spine Center Thuringia.
