Department of Dermatology and Allergology

The department of dermatology and allergology at the university hospital of Ulm treats all kind of dermatological and allergic diseases. The department consists of 35 inpatients and 14 semi-stationary beds. The department also specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the skin. The skin tumor center of Ulm was founded in 2009 and covers the entire dermato-oncological spectrum. As a skin cancer center certified by the German cancer society (DKG), the department offers not only the modern guideline-compliant treatment but also many new therapies that are otherwise inaccessible to patients. The department offers a careful diagnosis with the most modern test methods, by experienced doctors as the basis for successful therapy. The head of the department, Prof. Scharffetter-Kochanek, is one of the board members of the European Tissue Repair Society (ETRS) and has access to new therapeutic developments (including the development of the use of stem cells).
