Department of Hematology, Oncology, Rheumatology and Stem Cell Transplantation

Department of Hematology, Oncology, Rheumatology, and Stem Cell Transplantation at University Hospital Bonn provides care for patients with blood and bone marrow disorders, tumors and tumor-related diseases as well as autoimmune and rheumatological diseases. The department consists of 3 wards, a specialized ward for Bone Marrow Transplant, 1 intermediate care and another of the intensive care specialist.
The department is a part of the Center for Integrated Oncology which is supported by the German Cancer Aid. The treatment plans developed by the experienced medical staff of 39 doctors are all according to the guidelines provided by Good Clinical Practice and Center for Integrated Oncology Cologne-Bonn. Due to this, the department treats more than 2,200 inpatients every year with the guidance of Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Peter Brossart.
 The department also has research activities that mainly focus on tumor immunology, stem cell transplantation, infections in oncology, solid tumors, bone marrow transplantation, and rheumatological disorders.
