Department of Gynecology and Gynecological Oncology at University Hospital Bonn is one of the 4 departments forming the Center of Obstetrics and Gynecology. It provides care for women in their reproductive period as well as patients with tumors in their ovaries and uterus. The department, with Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Alexander Mustea as the director is a certified gynecologic center where more than 5,000 patients are treated every year. It is in collaboration with the Department of Radiology, Pathology, Surgery, Urology and Medical Oncology to ensure optimal care for clients and patients.
The department is part of the Center for Integrated Oncology and recognized by the German Cancer Aid as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. It is also a member of the 11 Centers of Excellency within the Cancer Centers in Germany. A focus of the department is pelvic organ prolapse and it has a great reputation for treating such cases that it’s certified by the German Continence Society. The department is in possession of the latest diagnostics and therapeutics to ensure accurate diagnosis and improve the outcome of the management plan.
