Department of Dermatology and Allergology

Department of Dermatology and Allergology at University Hospital Bonn is concerned with patients suffering from sexually transmitted diseases as well as skin and allergic disorders. The department consists of 2 stations with about 46 beds where about 2,000 inpatients get treated every year. There are special care beds for patients with psoriasis, ulcus cruris, and patients after operations.
The Dermatological Therapy Center has the Skin Cancer Center where skin tumors are diagnosed and treated with the state-of-the-art equipment, used by the qualified experienced team of doctors and nursing staff. This center is an important partner of the Center for Integrated Oncology which is recognized as the best oncological center in Germany by the German Cancer Aid.
With the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Bieber, the department’s research team is working towards monitoring and enhancing diagnostics and therapeutics as well as the pathogenesis of psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, skin tumors, and autoimmune diseases.
