Department of Vascular Surgery, Endovascular Surgery, and Transplant Surgery at University Hospital Stuttgart is one of the largest facilities in Germany that offers the entire spectrum of diagnostics and therapeutics for the management of arterial, venous, and lymphatic diseases. The German Society for Vascular Surgery has certified the Vascular Center as one of the top three institutions in Germany that follows the latest guidelines and techniques for vascular interventions. Interdisciplinary therapy for 3,000 inpatients is achieved through cooperation with other specialized departments every year, 10% of the cases are managed through performing biological carotid artery surgery.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Philipp Geisbüsch, the medical team of experienced surgeons, with the cooperation with the Kidney Transplant Center at the Stuttgart Clinic, carries out complex kidney transplants with simultaneous vascular reconstructions. The clinic is also involved in the Interdisciplinary Diabetic Foot Center where vascular surgeons, with the help of diabetologists and radiologists, perform diabetic feet amputation surgeries.
