Department of Pediatric Surgery

Department of Pediatric Surgery at University Hospital Stuttgart, located at the Olga Hospital, is one of the largest and most significant facilities in Germany that provides surgical procedures for infants, children, and adolescents. The main focuses of the department are burn surgery, interventional endoscopy, minimally invasive surgery, surgery for anorectal malformations, funnel chest correction, esophageal surgery, diaphragmatic hernia surgery, laser, and cryotherapy.
With Prof. Dr. Steffan Loff as the director, the department treats about 2,000 inpatients of various diseases every year. To ensure optimal care for such a sensitive age group, the medical team that consists of 15 doctors, 80 nurses, physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychologists, social workers, pastors, and teachers, works in close cooperation with specialists of different departments such as the Departments of Anesthesiology, Orthopedics, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Otolaryngology, and Pediatric Departments of other hospitals such as Göppingen, Ludwigsburg, Schwäbisch Gmünd, Böblingen, Schwäbisch Hall and Waiblingen.
