Department of Hand, Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at University Hospital Stuttgart, located at Catherine Hospital, provides the full range of care for patients with severe hand injuries, infections as well as chronic and generative diseases. The surgeons of the reconstructive and plastic surgery unit have achieved impressive results in the fields of modern free flap plastic surgery as well as body shaping surgeries. Surgeons carry out the latest arthroscopic and minimally invasive operations for osteosynthesis, instead of open surgical interventions. Working in cooperation with the orthopedic clinic of the Olga Hospital, care for complex congenital malformations of the hand and upper limb in children is offered.
The clinic operates under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Wachter who is a member of the training committee of the North Rhine-Württemberg Medical Association and also the Examination Board for the Additional Qualification Hand Surgery.
