Department of Otolaryngology

Department of Otolaryngology at University Hospital Muenster provides medical care for patients with diseases affecting the neck, ear, nose, throat and skull base. The department ensures the optimal care for patients through their state-of-the-art equipment as well as qualified medical staff who follow the present-day quality care standards. More than 8,000 outpatients and 3,500 inpatients are treated in the department every year under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Claudia Rudack who has been recognized as one of the top specialists in her field by FOCUS Magazine.

The department is a member of the Cochlear Implant Center Muenster which is well-known for its efforts and success in the field of treatment of hearing loss in all age groups. Rehabilitation for hearing and speech disability is also provided especially for children. A major focus of the department is the treatment of malignant tumors of the head and neck. The department is also a part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Muenster and is certified by the German Cancer Society. More than 300 surgical procedures for the removal of tumors are performed every year.
