Department of Gynecology

Department of Gynecology at University Hospital Halle (Saale) provides medical care for women before, during and after their reproductive period as well as during the pregnancy. The department is recognized as one of the best facilities by FOCUS Magazine for the treatment of breast cancer in Germany. The department has cutting-edge diagnostics and therapeutics for the female reproductive system and breast diseases.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Christoph Thomssen, the department treats more than 1,000 inpatients every year. The department works in close cooperation with departments such as departments of Radiology, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics and Nuclear Medicine to ensure the patients get the accurate diagnosis and best treatment plan. The department has certified Breast Center, Pelvic Floor Center and Gynecological Cancer Center.
