Department of General, Visceral, Vascular and Endocrine Surgery

Department of General, Visceral, Vascular and Endocrine Surgery at University Hospital Halle (Saale) provides surgical care for patients with diseases affecting abdominal organs. The service offered includes surgical treatment of malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, and liver. Special attention is directed towards hernia surgery and inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases. The endocrinal unit of the department treats thyroid and adrenal diseases with cooperation with the Department of Internal Medicine. The vascular unit works in close cooperation with the Vascular Surgery department of the BG Clinic Bergmannstrost. 
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Med. Jörg Kleeff, the department treats more than 1,700 inpatients every year. The department offers innovative treatment options such as HIPEC, minimally invasive procedures, and Da Vinci surgery.

Department of General, Visceral, Vascular and Endocrine Surgery at University Hospital Halle (Saale) is specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of:
