Department of Cardiology, Angiology and Intensive Care Medicine at University Hospital Halle (Saale) provides care for patients with cardiovascular diseases. A full range of innovative diagnostics and therapeutics for congenital and acquired diseases of the heart as well as blood vessels are offered by the specialist doctors in the department. The department is in cooperation with the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery to provide patients with high-quality surgical treatment of cardiovascular defects. Special attention is directed towards all types of heart failure as the department has a specialized Chest Pain Unit. The department is also a part of the Central German Heart Center.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Daniel Sedding the department treats more than 3,400 inpatients every year. The angiological unit of the department provides outpatient and inpatient care where more than 10,000 patients are examined annually.
