Department of Ophthalmology at University Hospital Greifswald is an ultra-modern facility that is fully equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostics and therapeutics to provide the full range of care for diseases of the eye and orbit. The medical team of the department is highly-qualified and experienced in the surgical therapeutic measures, from simple to complex procedures such as combined surgeries for glaucoma and cataract. Under the leadership of Director Prof. Dr. Andreas Stahl, the Eye Bank of the department is one of the few and most efficient corneal banks in Germany as it provides about 350 corneas for corneal transplantation every year.
