Department of General and Visceral Surgery at University Hospital Erlangen provides surgical care for patients with diseases of the digestive tract and organs. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Robert Grützmann, the department treats about 3,000 inpatients every year, many of which suffer from intestinal fistula. The department offers a full range of surgical procedures such as open surgery and the da Vinci Surgical System and has a special focus directed toward minimally invasive procedures and high-precision robotic surgical interventions.
