Prof. Dr. Bernhard Dorweiler

Department of Vascular Surgery

Department of Vascular Surgery at University Hospital Cologne provides surgical care for patients of all ages with congenital and acquired vascular diseases. The department offers open operations with minimally invasive methods for the treatment of aneurysms, especially abdominal aortic aneurysms. Screening for risk factors, management of high-risk cases, and surgical treatment for diagnosed patients are offered according to the latest standards.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Bernhard Dorweiler, the medical staff treats more than 1,000 inpatients every year, about 300 of which are atherosclerosis patients. The facility has achieved impressive results in the field of intermittent claudication.
