The Department of Internal Medicine II (Gastroenterology and Hepatology) focuses on the prevention, detection, and treatment of diseases of the digestive organs. The Head of the Department is Dr. Barbara Strey Specialist in internal medicine and gastroenterology Hepatology and oncologic gastroenterology (DGVS), Inflammatory, bowel disease (DGVS). The functions of the esophagus, stomach, duodenum and small intestine, large intestine, liver, biliary tract, and pancreas may be disturbed by a variety of diseases. Symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, blood in the stool, dysphagia, weight loss, jaundice are serious indications. As a gastroenterological center, we have a broad and highly specialized range of state-of-the-art examination and therapy procedures at your disposal. Thus, diseases with high expertise are diagnosed and treated safely and gently. It is of special importance to me, even in the age of technically highly specialized medicine, to see patients as human beings in the center with their individual questions, fears, and wishes. We would like to discuss this in individual consulting sessions in order to find the path of further diagnostics and therapy that is tailor-made for each patient.
