Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine

The Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine has advanced experience for the treatment of diseases in children and adolescents. The department has more than 70 beds for its inpatients and treats over 3,000 inpatients and 17,000 outpatients annually.

When a child has to go to the hospital, it is always a great psychological burden for the parents and the child itself. For this reason, the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine has set up several parent-child rooms, which can accommodate an accompanying person. The Head of the Department is Prof. Dr. Thorsten Rosenbaum.

The department offers a broad medical spectrum from all areas of pediatrics and adolescent medicine. The team consists of physicians, nurses, psychologists, physiotherapists as well as one social worker, educator, and nutritionist.

Our team of specially trained physiotherapists treats the children according to different physiotherapy methods. For example, individual treatments according to Vojta or Bobath are used, as well as special physiotherapeutic methods for respiratory diseases and other impairments.

The department offers special treatment methods, as well as services such as a parent-child room, room for teenagers, psychological support, physiotherapy, interdisciplinary treatment and asthma training for parents and children.
