Department of Neurosurgery

Department of Neurosurgery in Sana hospital Duisburg is one of the most advanced and well known neurosurgical departments in Germany having years of experience in all areas of microsurgery and neuroendoscopy. The head of the department is Prof. Dr. Martin Scholz, Specialist in neurosurgery and special neurosurgical intensive care

The employees are continuously trained in national and international further education to maintain the status of the department. In addition to professional competence, the close cooperation with the other departments, the Neurozentrum of Sana hospital Duisburg, is important to maintain. These include neuroradiology, neurology, radiotherapy, and pediatrics as well as neuropediatrics.

Hardly any other discipline is as dependent on technical developments as neurosurgery. For example, the intraoperative use of the microscope, endoscope, and neuronavigation have significantly advanced neurosurgery. The available equipment in Sana hospital is state-of-the-art and constantly adapted to the required conditions. Despite all technology, the patient should feel well and in good hands with the clinic. In addition to the medical art, the flow of information to the patient and his relatives is a very important therefore special consideration is been done in this direction.
