The Department for General, Abdominal and Thoracic Surgery is an associate member of the regional trauma center Duisburg and the trans-regional trauma network of Ruhrgebiet.
With close participation with the other departments of the Hospital, the emphasis is on all laparoscopic (minimally invasive) strategies, the oncological medical procedure of the Digestive System, coloproctology and endocrine surgeries. Through close collaboration, particularly with the Department of Gastroenterology, a Visceral Medical Center has been built. This permits a considerably progressively proficient treatment and diagnoses of ailments of different organs of the abdomen.
