Department of Oncology and Hematology at Ludwig-Maximilian University Hospital provides care for patients with tumors and blood disorders. The department has specific attention drawn to the diagnostic and treatment of leukemia and lymphoma. The department also offers bone marrow transplantation and psychological support for patients with tumors.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Michael von Bergwelt, the department treats more than 3,000 inpatients and 13,000 outpatients every year. 65 highly experienced professional doctors and 130 workers of the nursing staff work in harmony and utilize the advanced equipment of the department to make sure that each patient gets the optimal care.
