Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology

Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Ludwig-Maximilian University Hospital provides care for patients with conditions related to the esophagus, stomach, intestine, liver, biliary system and pancreas. The research institution of the department has on-going scientific and clinical trials that help in the development of new diagnostics and therapeutics. 
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Julia Mayerle, the department treats more than 3,500 inpatients every year. The department consists of highly-experienced doctors and medical staff is along with state-of-the-art equipment to ensure high-quality treatment for each case.
