Department of Hematology, Oncology, and Palliative Medicine at Helios Hospital Munich West provides the medical care for patients with blood clotting disorders, blood malignancies as well as solid tumors of various organs. The department is divided into an oncology unit and a hematology unit where specialists of each field take care of patients and the state-of-the-art specialized diagnostics and therapeutics are supplied. The oncology unit offers comprehensive diagnostics such as imaging studies (CT/MRI), endoscopy, biopsy while using endoscopic CT as well as bone marrow aspirate. The therapeutic plan is developed by specialists with the help of patients to ensure they’re receiving the optimal care for their condition. The research team of the department participates in national and international treatment studies to have access to the most modern and innovative therapeutic options. It works in close cooperation with the Comprehensive Cancer Center by the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich. Under the leadership of Dr. med. Fuat Oduncu, the department also treats patients with benign and malignant diseases of the blood and lymphatic system.
