Department of Urology
Department of Urology at Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch provides care for inpatients and outpatients with diseases of the urinary system as well as males with genital conditions. The department offers the full range of the latest diagnostics and therapeutics for the treatment of congenital, neoplastic, degenerative, and inflammatory diseases of the kidneys, urinary tract, urinary bladder, prostate, and testicles. The facility is known for its success and great reputation in the treatment of genitourinary cancer, such as prostate cancer and bladder cancer. As the National Center for the Second Opinion in Testicular Tumors, the facility uses the most advanced endourological and minimally invasive procedures to reduce the risk of complications and improve the outcome of surgical interventions.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Mark Schrader, the staff treats over 2,500 inpatients every year, many of which suffer from kidney stones and bladder cancer. The medical team also works in close cooperation with the Department of Nuclear Medicine to provide cutting-edge therapeutic measures for patients, such as radionuclide therapy for prostate cancer treatment as well as bone metastases.
