Department of Otolaryngology

Department of Otolaryngology at Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch provides conservative and surgical care for inpatients and outpatients with diseases of the ear, nose, and throat, as well as malignancies of the head and neck. The department also provides its service for patients with sleep disorders, voice and language disorders, and hearing impairments. As a member of the Helios Hearing Center Berlin-Brandenburg, the full range of hearing aids and cochlear implants is also available. The facility offers comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of dizziness, such as paroxysmal vertigo. The medical staff is made of otolaryngologists, audiology specialists, rehabilitologists, and pediatric otolaryngologists who treat congenital, inflammatory, neoplastic, and degenerative diseases of the ear, nose, and throat.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Marc Bloching, the staff treats over 2,900 inpatients every year. One of the key focuses is the surgical treatment of head and neck lesions as the facility offers surgical resection as well as reconstructive surgeries. Pathologies, such as Meniere’s disease, vestibular neuritis, and vestibular migraine, are also managed through the exceptional medical team.

  • Facial reconstructive interventions in men with gender changes, operations on the vocal cords, nose reshaping, improvement of nasal breathing by correcting the nasal valve.
  • Treatment of skull base and orbital diseases.
  • Surgery to improve hearing, installation of partially implantable hearing aids and cochlear implants.
