Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch provides care for patients with reproductive organs and breast diseases, as well as pregnant women and newborns. As a certified Center for Gynecologic Oncology by the German Cancer Society, the facility provides the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic measures for the management of congenital, degenerative, inflammatory, and neoplastic diseases of the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, vagina, and breast. The medical team develops a tailor-made management plan for each patient to ensure the optimal appropriate care for each patient. The therapeutic range for benign and malignant lesions of the breast includes screening, diagnosis, and both conservative and surgical treatment as the department works in close cooperation with the Breast Center and Pelvic Floor Center. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Med. Michael Untch, the gynecology staff treats over 4,000 inpatients and performs over 3,000 surgical procedures annually while the obstetrics unit safely delivers over 3,000 newborns every year. The obstetric team offers the full range for safe and clean delivery including water baths and works in close cooperation with the Pediatric Surgery Department, Pediatrics Department, and Perinatal Level I Center. The unit has qualified obstetricians and doctors who develop management plans for pregnant women with healthy pregnancies as well as high-risk ones.
