Department of Neurology

Department of Neurology at Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch provides medical care for patients with diseases of both the central and peripheral nervous systems. The department has the main focus directed towards the treatment of stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, vertigo, and Parkinson’s disease. The Stroke Unit is certified by the German Stroke Society and treats over 600 patients every year as it’ has modern equipment and experienced medical staff. The department works in close cooperation with the Departments of Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, Angiology, Geriatrics, and Neuroradiology to offer the full range of state-of-the-art diagnostics and therapeutics for epilepsy, dementia, multiple sclerosis, and movement disorders.
Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. med. Georg Hagemann, the staff treats over 1,800 inpatients every year. The great medical team has specialists in the treatment of motor disorders such as Parkinson’s disease. Rehabilitation measures, as well as consultations, are offered along with the diagnosis and treatment.
