Department of Hematology and Stem Cell Transplantation at Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch provides care for patients with acute and chronic blood diseases and malignancies. The department is mainly focused on the treatment of acute leukemia, malignant lymphomas, myelodysplastic syndrome, and disorders of the hematopoiesis through the latest, cutting-edge diagnostics and therapeutics. The facility offers the full range of bone marrow diagnostics, like the ones using cytological, cytochemical, and immunocytochemical measures. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Med. Bertram Glass, the remarkable medical team, made of specialists, physicians, and nurses, ensures optimal care for over 1,100 inpatients and 400 outpatients every year, many of which are lymphoma patients. A special feature of the department bone marrow transplantation, both autologous and allogeneic transplants are offered.

Research Activities
- Over the years, Prof. Glass has been actively involved in clinical research. His research interests include the treatment of malignant
- lymphomas and bone marrow transplants. He was the head and published the results of several multicenter clinical trials. He is also a Member of the Advisory Board of the German Lymphoma Alliance.
Teaching Activities
- Until 2016, the professor held the position of Instructor at the Asklepios Medical School. He also teaches at the University of Göttingen (Hematology and Oncology). In addition, Prof. Glass is a participant in many advanced courses, scientific congresses and symposia.
