Department of Cardiology and Nephrology at Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch provides medical care for patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular and kidney diseases. The department has a medical team full of experienced cardiologists, angiologists, and nephrologists as well as a highly-qualified nursing staff. The department has the latest, cutting-edge diagnostics and therapeutics for the management of congenital and acquired diseases of the heart, blood vessels, and kidneys. The staff performs over 2,900 cardiac catheterizations every year in the two highly-advanced Catheter Laboratories, most of which are for diagnostic purposes. The modern Chest Pain Unit treats patients with acute coronary syndrome and heart attacks. The facility also focuses on the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias through the implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators as well as the management of hypertensive patients.
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Med. Henning Baberg, the nephrology unit mainly focuses on the treatment of chronic kidney failure and offers the full range of renal replacement therapy.
