The department for Trauma, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery at the University Hospital Frankfurt am Main is connected to the trauma network of the German Society of Traumatology (DGU) as supra-regional maximum care provider 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to ensure the full spectrum of trauma surgery services, from complex treatments for severely injured patients to minimally invasive joint surgery. Under the guidance of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ingo Marzi, the department performs over 2,000 surgeries every year. In addition to emergency care, the department offers surgical treatment of trauma and orthopedic conditions, including hand surgery, pediatric traumatology, spine surgery, and reconstructive orthopedic surgery.

- Treatment of patients with severe injuries (treatment of patients with a multiple trauma)
- Surgery of tumors and spinal infections
- Minimally invasive spine surgery
- Video navigation during spine surgery

- Treatment of hip and pelvic injuries and diseases, especially joint preserving operations

- Treatment of severe injuries of soft tissues (with microsurgical tissue transplantation)
