The Department of Gynecology and the Breast Center at Charite university hospital headed by Prof. Dr. med. Jens-Uwe Blohmer works at three locations of the Charite: Campus Charite Mitte (CCM), Campus Virchow-Klinikum (CVK), Campus Benjamin-Franklin (CBF). The association is composed of three clinics:
- Clinic for Gynecology with Breast Center (CCM and CBF)
- Department of Gynecology with Center for Oncological Surgery (CVK)
- Department of Gynecology (CBF)
The Department of Gynecology and the Breast Center at Charite university hospital focuses on the following spectrum of conditions:
- Breast Center: Diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer,
- Gynecological Tumor Center: all gynecological cancers, eg. Ovarian, fallopian tube and peritoneal cancers, cervix and uterine cancer,
- Minimally invasive tumor surgery,
- Diagnosis and treatment of benign gynecological diseases, eg. myomas, endometriosis, benign ovarian tumors, bleeding disorders, and incontinence,
- Outpatient cancer treatment with chemotherapy, pre- and aftercare,
- Pediatric gynecology, including surgical treatment of congenital malformations,
- Outpatient oncological care.
According to the Focus magazine rating of 2017, the department was rated among the top German clinic in the field of Gynecology and the Breast diseases.
